We Started With a Simple Question

Why does no one teach us about money when it matters most? Back in 2018, a small group of financial educators in Sydney noticed something odd. People would come to us stressed about debt, confused about super, or paralyzed by mortgage decisions. And they all said basically the same thing: "I wish I'd learned this years ago."

So we built serenithalor. Not as another financial advice firm, but as a place where everyday Australians could actually understand their money without the jargon or judgment.

What We Actually Do

We run practical finance courses. That's it. No fancy algorithms or investment schemes—just straightforward education about budgeting, saving, debt management, and long-term planning.

Our programs run over eight to twelve weeks, usually evenings or weekends because most of our participants work full-time. We cover everything from reading your payslip properly to understanding how compound interest actually works (spoiler: it's both your best friend and worst enemy, depending on which side you're on).

What makes us different? We don't pretend everyone starts from the same place. Someone earning $65K in Western Sydney faces different challenges than someone on $95K in the Eastern suburbs. Our courses adapt to where you are right now.

What We Stand For

No Financial Gatekeeping

Finance isn't complicated because it has to be. It's complicated because that's how institutions made money for decades. We break down concepts into plain English and never make you feel silly for asking questions.

Real Situations Only

Every scenario we teach comes from actual client experiences. We don't use hypothetical millionaires or perfect budgeters. You'll work through messy divorces, unexpected redundancies, and surprise medical bills—because that's real life.

Your Goals, Your Pace

Not everyone wants to retire at 45 or own three properties. Some people just want to stop living paycheck to paycheck. Both are completely valid, and we help you work toward whatever financial security means to you.

Who Teaches These Courses

Our educators come from different backgrounds—former bankers who got tired of pushing products, accountants who wanted to help beyond tax time, and people who rebuilt their own finances after major setbacks.

Freja Lindquist

Lead Program Coordinator

Freja spent twelve years in retail banking before realizing she was better at teaching people how to avoid debt than selling them credit cards. She designed our core curriculum and still teaches every Tuesday night session in Parramatta.

How We Got Here

2018

Started With Evening Classes

Ran free workshops at a community centre in Blacktown. Had about eight people show up to the first one. By month three, we needed a bigger room.

2020

Pandemic Pivot

Moved everything online during lockdowns. Discovered that people in regional areas desperately wanted this education too. Ended up keeping the online option permanently.

2022

Opened Physical Space

Finally got a proper venue in Blacktown Westpoint. Could run multiple sessions per week and offer drop-in support hours. Game changer for people who learn better face-to-face.

2025

Expanding Course Options

Launched specialized programs for specific situations—managing finances after relationship breakdown, rebuilding credit, navigating career changes. Next cohort starts September 2025.

Want to Actually Understand Your Money?

Our next intake opens August 2025. Classes run for ten weeks, and you'll walk away with a personalized financial plan that actually makes sense for your situation. No pressure, no judgment—just practical education.
